I NOW

The relationship between the NOW and the I is one of symbiosis. They are two phenomena that coexist in a state of reciprocal influence, each indispensable to the other's existence. Without the NOW, the I would lack a temporal context within. Conversely, without the I, the NOW would remain inert, devoid of meaning or significance, existing as a mere abstraction divorced from human consciousness.
The NOW and the I converge to form a dialectical relationship. They are not distinct entities but rather interdependent facets of a unified whole.

The presentation I NOW is a platform where fundamental inquiries such as Where is I? and How long is now?" are explored. The location of the I (WHERE IS I) remains a mystery. It is an attribution for the totality of deliberate actions and cannot be precisely localized in the distributive organization of the brain. Without knowing the starting point of the I, any new information we receive is only approximate and immeasurable.

“Because what can be measured also exists.”

                                                                                                                                                        Max Planck

Finding the location of the self would not only answer the fundamental question of Where is I located  but also provide insights into where the present moment NOW manifests within us.

HOW LONG IS NOW questions the tangibility and duration of the present moment as it is perceived differently by each individual brain. While there is a traveling now-information that flows through our bodies, it takes different amounts of time to reach its destination, raising the question of whether we are living in the past. The N.T.S. (Now Time Space) is considered the place where now actually occurs, but we cannot experience it directly.

The unanswered questions about NOW and I continue to be subjects of discourse and investigation.

The odyssey of this Project (self experiment) begins 1984 where a group FILOART tryes to explain and understand from what is a human body made off?:

“Every human body is made up from groups of physical units. Each human has ideas, in this way, ideas create groups of ideas. The fact is that every human being is a conglomerate of these groups”.

                                                                                                                                                                     FILOART, 1984

Later on in 1990-s at the Kunsthaus Tacheles Berlin, Globalodromia FILOART makes works based on the questions WHERE IS I and HOW LONG IS NOW  to finalize in a compelling interaction with a ChatGPT in 2023.

This presentation is curated as a comprehensive amalgamation of over 30 artworks spanning various exhibitions, talks, and presentations. Central to its narrative are the works stemming from the FILOART movement groups: Sammlerfamilie, Psychiatriepatienten , D.N.K. L.E.O.,  Mrs. Brainwash, Globalodromia, U.R.A. P.M.S.. Each of these groups contributes to the discourse, offering unique perspectives on the existential inquiries at hand.

Through a diverse array of art forms including installations, concepts, computer simulations, and bio experiments, this presentation takes the visitors on an unusual journey through the exploration of these questions.

I-NOW transcends the confines of traditional exhibitions, morphing into a dynamic platform for philosophical inquiry and exploration. It stands as a evidence to the enduring fascination humanity holds for the enigmatic concepts of this two topics I and NOW.
